Professionally supervised fitness programs tailored to those with medical conditions.

It's widely publicized that exercise is vital for good physical and mental health as well as disease prevention. |
However, certain medical conditions prevent some people from exercising on their own. Healthplex® Wellness Programs were specially designed for people who are not ready or able to exercise independently. These programs help bridge the gap between a patient's treatment for a medical condition and their return to an independent exercise program.
Our Wellness Programs are led by nationally certified personal trainers, clinical exercise physiologists, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and nutritionists, in consultation with other medical professionals. All Healthplex® Sports Club fitness staff members are credentialed in exercise science.
We offer a range of programs for people with conditions such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes and much more. Weight management programs are also available.
To ensure that patients do not compromise their health and can safely participate in our programs, we require a referral from a physician or other health care provider before the patient can enroll in any of these programs.
Available Wellness Programs:
Healthy Living
Healthy Living is specifically for people with conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, asthma, or neuromuscular disorders, or people who have completed their cardiac or physical rehabilitation and want to elevate their exercise program. Exercises are selected based on the individual's needs and abilities.
"Can Do It" Cancer Exercise
This unique, highly supervised exercise program is tailored specifically to those who have cancer. Exercise selection is based not just on the patient's present limitations, but also on helping the patient optimize daily activities and fight fatigue.
Osteo-Fit
Osteo-Fit is an osteoporosis treatment and prevention program. It is designed especially for women and men who are interested in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. Workouts consist of exercises that target muscles which support bones susceptible to breaks and fractures.
Exercise for People with Diabetes
This program is designed to help people with diabetes control their blood glucose (blood sugar) levels through supervised exercise.
Strength for Life
This one-hour strength and flexibility class is for new exercisers and older adults.
Heart Smart for Women
This comprehensive program educates women about their risk factors for heart disease and provides them with the tools to modify those risks. With the right combination of mild cardiovascular exercise, strength training and education, Heart Smart for Women addresses the major risk factors for heart disease. The one-hour classes are for women only, and are led by experienced female instructors.
Aqua Arthritis and Aqua Fibromyalgia
These two classes meet several times a week in a heated therapy pool, with trained instructors who provide a friendly, supportive environment. Exercises are specially designed to offer relief from pain and stiffness for people with arthritis or fibromyalgia.
Aqua Easy
This low-impact class is designed for people with limited exercise capacity or who are new to exercise. Sessions meet in our heated therapy pool with exercises modified to meet the specific needs of participants. Aqua Easy meets several times per week.
