In addition to pediatric specialty services, Crozer-Chester Medical Center's pediatrics department includes additional services, including emergency medicine, surgical services and physicial medicine and rehabilitation services.
Division of Emergency Medicine
Crozer's Emergency Department provides 24-hour care to infants, children and young adults with urgent medical, surgical and traumatic conditions. Crozer's Emergency Department physicians and trauma surgeons work closely with staff pediatricians to provide seamless care for critically injured and ill children.
In 2006, Crozer's 40,000 square foot Emergency Department opened and includes designated pediatric suites, a separate children's waiting area and on-site radiology facilities, among other amenities. A new helipad expedites transportation of critically injured patients to and from Crozer.
The professionals of the Crozer Regional Trauma Center, Delaware County's only trauma center, are also available around-the-clock to treat more serious injuries. The trauma center is accredited by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation.
In addition, the skilled Nathan Speare Regional Burn Treatment Center team is especially prepared to treat pediatric patients. The Burn Treatment Center, which celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2008, is the Delaware Valley's largest multidisciplinary burn facility that is dedicated exclusively to meeting the complex needs of burn patients and their families. Pediatricicians participate in the care of all pediatric burn patients.

Surgical Services
Crozer's skilled surgeons provide comprehensive care, ranging from such general procedures as appendectomies, hernia surgeries and gall bladder surgeries to burn scar revisions and plastic surgeries.
Orthopedic surgeons are available to treat injuries occurring from athletics, accidents or other activities. Otolaryngologists (ear, nose and throat specialists) offer surgical and non-surgical treatment of a range of hearing, sinus, throat and other related disorders. Common procedures include tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy.
If an inpatient stay is required following a surgical procedure, children are cared for in the welcoming surroundings of the Pediatrics Unit.
